The first week of February has a lot to offer, if you are
interested in sport events. The week starts off with the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013 in Schladming, Austria and is scheduled until the 17th
of February. The first discipline, the Super-G, will already show if the favourites
of this season, Tina Maze and Marcel Hirscher, can live up to the expectations. Certainly the Super-G will be
easier for Maze, but who knows what Hirscher is able to do, participating in a
world championship on home ground?!
Time to celebrate again?
On Thursday, the 46th Biathlon World Championships in Nove
Mesto, Czech Republic, will start. To be honest, I would bet everything I have,
on that Tora Berger and Martin Fourcade will have at least one medal lying on their bedside table when
they go to sleep this Sunday night. From an event point of view it will be interesting
to see if Nove Mesto, which hosted the first Biathlon World Cup only last
season, will be able to deliver a first class sport event.
