Preview week 7

The next episode of week 6

Let’s start with a major sport event at the end of this week: The 2013 NBA All-Star Game. This exhibition game will be played on February 17 at Toyota Center in Houston. The players for the game were selected by the fans with Kobe Bryant (1,591,437 votes) and LeBron James (1,583,646 votes) receiving the most votes of all starters. From an event point of view it will be interesting to see what the sponsors of the following competitions have come up with to entertain spectators: Taco Bell Skill Challenge, Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, Sprite Slam Dunk Contest, Sears Shooting Stars Competition, BBVA Rising Stars Challenge. Come and visit our blog next week to read more about this event.

Will Marcel Hirscher win gold on Sunday?
As in week 6 we will see more competitions going on at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013 with the Team Event on Tuesday, both Giant Slaloms as well as both Slaloms on Saturday (women) and Sunday (men). In the Team Event we will hopefully see the home team of Austria win their first gold medal of these Championships - finally . Furthermore the Austrians have a good chance of winning a gold in the Slalom with Marcel Hirscher as the World Cup Leader.

Can they win the first gold for Russia?
The IBU World Championships Biathlon 2013 will go into their second week with Individuals (15km & 20km) the Relays and at the end of the event the Mass Starts on Sunday. Surely the Norwegian Team is going to win some more medals, but can the Germans finally win their first medal? And will the Russian Team stand the pressure from their local press and add more medals to the one bronze medal?
